This was a close race, nearly all top 10 positions were hotly contested. Strategy began playing a much larger part in the races. Looking forward to next race!

Yup. good bit of fun. Managing and observing live is surprisingly good fun, you can still join!

When you create a team, set the team name same as manager name (which should be your oppo name btw), makes in game chatting much easier. The whole league is very cool, as anything with opponauts would be, and we're all very cool sharing strategems

Quick lesson for everyone -

DON'T USE THE HARD TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I learned my lesson. That is all.

I used hards in my second stint and actually did pretty well. I lost the most time when my ss's degraded (my launcher was loading so I couldn't tell my driver to pit) and when the meds overheated at the end.

I thought your driver was doing quite well with hards, just needed to push a bit harder (no pun intended). They were cool pretty much the whole time

issat you vince? If so, yeah you were lapping faster than brown till they overheated. I was actually eyeing your driver as he approached, keeping the tyres cold as he did, then told Brown to push hard when you were at my heels and nearly overheating

Well, half the problem was I wasn't there to change the push level, but I got off the tires and they were at 50%. If I had enough fuel I could have held out to the end on those. I feel like they are just too far off the pace compared to mediums and softs. I ran a full second slower on those compared to people on the mediums.

I imagine hards would be good with plenty of fuel and live push managment, maybe on a 1/4 race where the right pit saved in the right time can make all the difference in the world

Srs, looking over the spain times Engstrom was near podium when she pitted. If the tyres really were down only 50%, then with sufficient fuel she probably could've made it to the front with just that first pit. May not have held any top lap times, but she would've pulled some great consistency and given Fisher a run for his money

If i can suggest, try calculating out liters per kilometer. I'm working on meshing out optimal fuel load/tyre wear per km and getting pretty close. If hards are that long lasting...

Yep. I had him pushing the entire race, then pushing hard when about to get to you. The lap when I was approaching was my fastest of the race. The tires were at 80% when I got to you, but quickly overheated and I lost all the time I gained, and then lost out to Igwe. It was the first time I watched the race so the launcher was updating at the beginning. During that time, I was running in second, then the super softs dropped off and I fell back to 11, then pitted into 25, so that was the worst part of the race for me. I'm running Donelofts, so I though overheating wouldn't be too much of a problem. I'll take it as a learning experience and Monaco has low tire wear, so hopefully I'll be better!

I really enjoyed that, great race. I could(should) have gone a couple laps longer on the softs in my first stint, and same as yesterday's race I ended up with way too much fuel left at the end of the race - am I missing something there? I fueled for 7/13/13 but had fuel 2+ laps left at the end. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I'm not sure what to do with my driver either. He's retiring and talent 1. He's done well but as talent is the only thing that can't be trained I don't know whether to ditch him now that I have 'skills view' and look for someone younger with higher talent to train for future seasons...

May I suggest changing your team name to manager name? Makes it easier to track, and then that much easier if you change manager to match oppo name. A different username/manager name/team name gets confusing

Your technical director isn't exactly correct in his fuel calculations. I think he will get better in time. If you watched the race live, there is a different fuel number next to how much fuel you have, and I think that is the actual fuel use per lap, so you can adjust how much fuel you add midrace. I haven't tried this yet, so I'm not sure this will work.

I'd hire a new driver, but at the end of the season. You will want someone who can develop. Having someone who is retiring isn't smart.

If you've got skill check, let him retire. My first Driver was a 40 y/o man. Hadn't won a single race in his life, retired after coming in 2nd to last on my first race. Drop him like he's hot and find talented young blood. Besides, older drivers' skills actively atrophy each race. It's not worth it trying to train them up.

Fuel consumption takes practice. I'm pretty close to nailing down fuel/tyres for supersofts to qually on. Overanalyze fuel/tyre over previous races, making sure to accommodate for lap distance and tyre wear levels. Pull out a calculator, figure out Liter to Kilometer rate, make a spreadsheet if you'd like.

Yeah, I see that now. My TD overestimated by quite a bit so my middle stint went on longer than planned. Same in the last race. Will try and be smarter next race.

He only announced his retirement after signing the contract for this season. It seems a waste of time training him when I won't see any benefit next season. But by that point I guess I'll be able to hire higher level drivers anyway, so...

IMExp running hard heats up and wears out tyres /fast/. If you tell the driver to take it easy they'll auto pit when fuel or tyre is low, good for if you don't think you'll be able to live manage. I found this out the hard way, ranking 6th or so then my driver autopitting on 2nd to last lap (driver had juuust enough fuel to finish but nope. played it safe)

I'm running goodweeks, and even with operating range of 2 L Brown is usually pretty close to holding fastest laps when riding easy, and the occasional hard push for those tight overtakes

That's some nice consistency on wear and consumption. If you had filled up w/77L those hards would've lasted juuuuuust enough to make it to the end. Your driver would probably start off lapping low 1:26s for a few laps due to extra fuel weight but would've shaved off ~20 from total pit stop and recovery.

Keep in mind that's some rough maths based only off Spain.
